Carmen Sue Petersen, 63, of Fort Atkinson, WI, formerly of Tekonsha, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 2, 2025 at her home.
A funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Lighthouse of Tekonsha, 616 N. Main St., Tekonsha, MI with Pastor Brian Perry officiating. Visitation will be held for three hours prior to the service, beginning at 4:00 p.m., also at Lighthouse of Tekonsha Tuesday.
Private interment will be at West Clarendon Cemetery.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation.
Carmen was born October 21, 1961 to Harvey Dale and Marylee (Herrick) Petersen in Albion, Michigan. She graduated from Homer High School with the Class of 1980 and earned an Associate Degree from Kellogg Community College in 1987.
In 1989, Carmen moved to Wisconsin to work at Merrick Livestock Feed. She later worked for Trek Bicycle Distribution Center and Casey’s General Store as a clerk in 2018 in Jefferson and Ft. Atkinson.
Carmen enjoyed watching basketball, football, and was a Detroit Tigers fan. She loved cats and Star Trek as well.
Carmen is survived by her siblings, Terry Petersen of Tekonsha and Cheryl (Charles) McKean of Tekonsha; her niece and nephew, Alexis McKean and Anthony McKean, both of Tekonsha; her great-niece, Macie McKean; her uncle, Robert (Darlene) Petersen of Tekonsha; and her several cousins. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, and several aunts and uncles.
